Procedures for Request of Lane & Road Closures
Contractor or department requesting a lane closure must provide the following information:

  • A detailed description of work being done and reason for the closure.
  • Location of the proposed closure with location map.
  • Dates and times of the closure.
  • A proposed traffic control plan that follows the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic control Devices (TMUTCD) with any proposed detours shown.
  • A name and contact number for residents to contact in case of emergency or questions about closure.
  • All of this information must be submitted no less then five days before the proposed road closure is scheduled to take place.

This information will be put onto a town letterhead for distribution to the affected residents (if necessary) as well as posted on the Little Elm website and sent out as a LE News message. It will also be sent out to all the town department heads, Little Elm Independent School District (LEISD), CWD, and the U.S. Postal Service. Distribution of the door hangers is the responsibility of the contractor or the department requesting the closure. Door hangers can not be taped to the resident’s doors.
