Once you have set up a temporary card you can visit the Library to receive your permanent card. Temporary Library cards will give you access to any of our digital resources, but you will not be able to place holds or physically check out any of our items until a permanent card is obtained. Temporary Library cards are good for 12 months from the date created.
Any Texas resident over the age of 18 must present a valid photo ID (driver's license, state ID, Matricula Consular card, passport, etc.) that shows a current address.
Another form of documentation showing your current address, such as a piece of mail, utility bill, lease, check stub, etc., may be provided for proof of address if your photo ID is not up to date.
Under 18? You must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to obtain a Library card.
Library cards are free, but there is a $2 replacement fee for lost cards.
*If you already have a permanent Library card, you do not need to apply for a temporary one. To access e-materials, use the account number on the back of your Library card as your username and the last four (4) digits of that number as your password.
