Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience is an interactive, nighttime woodland trail experience filled with magical creatures and wizarding wonders from the Harry Potter™ and Fantastic Beasts™ films. Set in the beautiful woodland and trails of Little Elm Park, this experience has been brought to life by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment in partnership with Fever and IMG.

The outdoor experience was created by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment in partnership with leading entertainment discovery platform Fever, and award-winning theatrical designers Thinkwell and Unify.  

What are the benefits of this event for the Town of Little Elm?

Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience in Little Elm offers plenty of exciting activities and attractions for residents and visitors of all ages. There is something for everyone, from interactive games and magical creatures to themed photo opportunities. 

What will the traffic impact be of this event?

There will be a controlled number of tickets sold nightly, and they will be limited by time slot. As a result, we do not expect the number of vehicles to exceed an average summer evening in Little Elm. We are anticipating minimal traffic impact.

Will there be an impact to public safety? 

This event will have on-site security. This is a ticketed event, with a controlled number of tickets sold nightly. We do not anticipate the crowd coming to this event to have a negative impact on public safety. The production team will have safety plans in place and work very closely with local emergency management and public safety services. 

Is Little Elm Park still open during this event?

Yes, the majority of Little Elm Park will be open during this event with modified hours. The park will close daily at 3:30 p.m. beginning October 20. During this time, we encourage the community to use one of our many other parks, such as the newly-opened Lawn at The Lakefront, Union Park, Beard Park, McCord Park, one of the neighborhood parks located throughout Little Elm.

Can I still use the trails in Little Elm Park? 

The trails in Little Elm Park will be closed September 18, 2023 to February 15, 2024; however, these trails make up a small portion of Little Elm’s trail system. The Lakefront Trail, Harts Branch Trail, McCord Park Trails, Cottonwood Park Nature Trail, and other various neighborhood trails and trail links will be open during this time. 

What is the anticipated noise impact of this event?

This event is in an isolated location, and we do not anticipate a noise impact to residents. However, the production company will continually monitor the decibel level of the event to minimize noise and ensure quality of life is not affected. 

Will this event affect the Town's holiday and Christmas celebrations?

No, this event will not affect the Town's holiday and Christmas celebration plans. Before Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience selected Little Elm as a location, we began to reimagine our holiday celebrations to better serve our community. This holiday season we are planning free family-oriented Halloween and Christmas events at our newest park, The Lawn at The Lakefront. Learn more at www.lakefrontlittleelm.com/events.

How will this impact youth sports? 

During this event, youth sports activities will move out of Little Elm Park; however, new space will be available with the completion of the new state-of-the-art Lakeside Sports Complex. There will be no loss of practice space or game opportunities during this event. 

Is the Town of Little Elm planning the event? 

No, a third-party company will be planning and executing the event. The Town of Little Elm has no control over ticket pricing, event times, and the number of tickets available.
