Seed Library

For the past several years, the Little Elm Public Library has been operating a Seed Library for the people of North Texas. Even during the shutdown, we maintained a Seed Table outside our Front Door where Patrons could stop by and take seeds for their gardens. Additionally, we have donated large amounts of seeds to churches, HOAs and other organizations as well as doing seed packet distributions on special occasions such as the Town Expo, Earth Day and National Plant A Garden Day.

Currently, any Library member can check out up to 8 packets of seeds on their Library card. These seeds check out for six months and, if your crops grow well, you can take seeds from the plants that you have grown and donate them back to the Library. Then, the Library will repackage them for a entirely new group of Patrons. Please be assured that returning seeds is not mandatory. So, if your crop fails or you can’t otherwise get seeds back to the Library, just let us know and we will take the seeds off of your Library Account.

Thank you to our generous community donors that donate seeds to sustain Little Elm Public Library's Seed Library.
