Criminal Investigation Division. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) conducts follow-up investigations to offense and incident reports initiated by the Patrol Division. You may check your case's status by contacting the LEPD at 214-975-0460, or the contact number provided to you by your case's assigned detective. Hours of operation for CID are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Crime Scene Investigations. During the on-scene investigation, a member of the Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for locating, documenting, marking, and collecting physical evidence, ensuring the chain of custody of evidence is maintained, associating persons to the scene of the crime, completing detailed sketches of the crime scene, taking accurate measurements of the crime scene, and reconstructing the crime scene.

Evidence Collection. The Little Elm Police Department operates a property and evidence room that is maintained by the Criminal Investigation Division. After collection, the evidence is logged into the evidence facility and assigned a permanent location within the evidence room. It may remain there until final disposition. If you have any questions about the property room or believe we have property that belongs to you, please contact our business office at 214-975-0460.
