Lisa Norman, Council Member
Lisa Gerding Norman was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She took her lifetime passion and love of dance to the University of Central Oklahoma, where she became a dance major and member of the Kaleidoscope Dance Company. Following her studies at UCO, she successfully ran an independent dance program through local daycare facilities.
Lisa moved to the Dallas area in 2002, where she continued to be actively involved in the dance world as a dancer, choreographer, studio owner, and in 2003 she became an instructor for Preston Center Dance, where she created the Adaptive Dance Program for students with disabilities.
In addition, Lisa is honored to teach dance for the Camp Cavett Foundation. This foundation host camps throughout the year for children with life-threatening illnesses. Lisa thoroughly enjoys teaching and inspiring all her dancers to embrace the love, passion, discipline, and excitement of dance. Lisa is also the co-owner of a successful dance competition business, Synergy Performing Arts Competition.
In 2005, Lisa married her husband Chip, and they moved to Little Elm in the same year. They knew it would be a great place to start and raise a family. Now, Lisa and Chip are the proud parents of two active boys; Ross is 14, and Jace is 5.
During her 16 years living in Little Elm, Lisa has enjoyed being a busy working mom and wife and wanted to be involved in the community she loves. She began by serving on the Corbell Elementary PTA as 2nd Vice President.
In June 2019, Lisa was excited and honored to become Council Member for District 4 of the Town of Little Elm. She enjoys serving her community and helping ensure that the people in her district live in a safe, fun, and vibrant community.
Lisa feels she brings a unique perspective with her strong family values and ability to listen to the Town's needs from a mother's point of view. Her goals are to keep the Town safe to raise families and prosper for Little Elm's business.
Lisa's passion for helping others brought her to working with members of the Texas House of Representatives beginning in 2020 to inspire the creation of Texas House Bill - 725, also known as Jace's Law, which unanimously passed the Texas House of Representatives on April 1, 2021. It then unanimously passed the Texas Senate on May 19, 2021. Governor Greg Abbott signed the bill into law on June 4, 2021.
Jace's Law qualifies kids fostered from out of state but now reside in Texas for pre-K.
Lisa is also a member of the Young Men's Service League and services as the Members Meeting Committee Chair for the West Frisco Chapter of the organization.
Lisa is proud to serve the residents of Little Elm's District 4 and looks forward to continuing to see the Town thrive and grow well into the future.
