The Little Elm Community Recreation Center is now The Rec at The Lakefront, complete with a new logo. The facility was rebranded to match its next-door neighbor, The Cove at The Lakefront™ indoor waterpark and to create cohesion among existing and future amenities in The Lakefront at Little Elm.
The workout facility's rebranding also increases awareness of The Lakefront™, a destination district of amenities, recreation, and restaurants and draws visitors from throughout the region.
With its most significant amenity, Lake Lewisville, the Town is already a popular place for those who love boating, fishing and water recreation and activities. But Little Elm wants to keep those who visit here longer by giving them plenty to do.
"We have the largest public beach in North Texas, outstanding hiking and biking trails, DFW's newest waterpark and many large and unique special events each year," said the Town's Director of Community Services, Chad Hyde.
Visitors can also enjoy unique eats and drinks next to the lake with fun dining options such as Towers Taphouse and the only Hula Hut outside Austin.
While the facility hasn't moved, the Town expects to find more visitors at The Rec at The Lakefront when they go to The Cove™.
"We anticipate visitors to The Cove™ also being interested in The Rec," Hyde said.
Recently, the Town also broke ground on a few new projects in The Lakefront™. An 84-room hotel, La Quinta del Sol by Wyndham, and a two-story entertainment venue, Tinman Social, will come online in early 2022.
On April 8, the Town also hosted a groundbreaking for The District at Little Elm, a 324-unit multi-family living project with retail. The development, by Palladium USA, will further marketing of The Lakefront District, said Jennette Espinosa, Executive Director of the Little Elm Economic Corporation.
"People can live, play, and now stay at The Lakefront™," Espinosa said.
